Delivering a Modern Performance Management Experience

January 5, 2017

Frustrations with performance management are not new, but the challenges organizations face have changed. Today, companies must keep up with evolving business models, changing demographics and rapid changes in technology that make it possible to disperse work across a global virtual workplace. Yet in the new world of work, the current state of performance management remains quite traditional and time-consuming, often with an uncertain ROI.

In fact, performance management continues to get low marks from both employees and employers, according to recent research from Willis Towers Watson.

But there is good news for companies looking to modernize programs and deliver more effective performance management.

  • Organizations that ensure a positive performance management experience are more likely to have employees who are highly engaged.
  • Over half of those (58%) who say their performance review has helped them improve their performance are highly engaged.
  • In addition, 55% of employees who indicate their performance was accurately evaluated in their last review are highly engaged.

To ensure effective performance management, companies must focus on increasing business impact as well as efficiency and effectiveness, while also enhancing the overall experience for their employees.
