We are often asked about the difference between our question library and our survey templates in Willis Towers Watson Employee Engagement Software. While both provide a starting point for survey design using our validated questions, they differ in the extent to which they are ready to go “off the shelf” or still require some assembly.

One way to think about it is to compare creating a survey to getting dressed in the morning. The question library is your entire wardrobe, you can pick any number of items to create your own outfit. Or, if you prefer a complete ready-made outfit, you can select one of our survey templates.

What topics are covered?

Willis Towers Watson Employee Engagement Software offers over a dozen survey templates on a variety of topics including change readiness, benefits, corporate function effectiveness and safety. We have built each one based on our extensive research and with the advanced experience of Willis Towers Watson subject matter experts.

What about normative benchmarks?

Many of the questions in our templates can be benchmarked to Willis Towers Watson norms because they have been around for many years. Others, especially on emerging or less frequently used topics (such as cyber risk and merger monitors) are less likely to have benchmark comparisons.

Can I customize a template for my organization?

Larger templates are organized in categories, representing the themes we think you should be measuring. If you don’t like a particular question, you can easily replace it with another on the same topic. You will find many alternatives in the question library or you can create questions from scratch.

Survey templates are a great starting point for running a survey and will significantly reduce the amount of time you have to spend on creating your own questions.
