Pension Finance Watch – December 2020

Pension index climbs to close the year

January 7, 2021

The Willis Towers Watson Pension Index ended 2020 exactly where it began, with a value of 78.5.

During the course of the year, however, it dipped below 70, and the recovery was enabled by a final quarter in which the index increased every month. Strong equity returns can be credited with December’s 1.8% index growth.
