Willis Research Network’s Director Hélène Galy discusses how the network started in 2006 and what her role involves. She also outlines key success factors for applied collaboration between science and the risk management communities.

Hélène joined Willis in 1998, specialising in natural hazard modelling and reinsurance optimisation. Since 2001, she has been leading multi-disciplinary teams, who research, design and develop analytical tools for risk quantification and management. She currently manages the Willis Research Network, an award-winning public-private partnership, which harnesses over 50 partners in science, academia, think tanks to form innovative collaborations with the risk management and insurance industries, improving our understanding of risks (natural hazards, technological risks, geopolitical drivers of risk…) for the benefit of clients and our society.
She holds a BSc in Economics & Political Science (Sciences Po), and an MSc in Environmental Economics (UCL).

In the current interview, Hélène goes into more detail in regards to what her role is and elaborates on the success of Willis Research Network in the past 13+ years.
