    supporting insurers to structure and manage risk and capital in a way that maximises returns and financial efficiency.

    supporting our clients in the complexities of reinsurance coverage, claims, and accounting and settlement across the world.

Our working culture is team-based and offers the opportunity to work within one of the three core divisions of Willis Re:

  • International – serving all clients outside of North America.
  • North America - serving all clients within the USA and Canada
  • Specialty – providing specialist insurance sector expertise (e.g. aerospace, marine), to support all clients globally.

Our focus on development

Whilst Willis Re is structured into these three divisions, we actively encourage all colleagues to work across the global business to develop careers more broadly. This integrated approach fosters our strong culture of teamwork and creates an environment where everyone can develop throughout their careers. Reinforcing this approach, we run a number of professional skills and management and leadership development programs that are specific to the Willis Re business, in addition to structured mentoring programs at all stages.

Foundational Development

The REACH (Reinsurance Achievement) program is offered to all apprentices, graduates and colleagues new to reinsurance based in North America, London and Europe. Tailored development opportunities are offered in other regions.

REACH is a reinsurance-specific development program designed to provide the foundational knowledge and skills for a successful Willis Re career. Over two years there are six immersion sessions, from introductory modules through to financial analysis, catastrophe modelling, actuarial analysis, large account review and delivering a mock RFP proposal. Underpinning all this is a lunch and learn series, structured Chartered Insurance Institute and actuarial study, as well as core professional and business skills.

Technical, Analytics and Financial Learning

A catalogue of technical, analytics and financial modules supports development beyond the REACH program. These enable Willis Re colleagues to effectively advise, engage with and execute for re/insurance clients/prospects, with a thorough understanding of our service offering. Willis Re also supports CFA Level 1.

The Client Advocate Development Program

The Client Advocate Development Program is a structured, 12 month development program for high performing client-facing colleagues. Through tangible client work, learning and mentoring, the program provides the framework, tools and competencies to fundamentally enhance how we approach and engage with clients and prospects.

The Advocate Partner Development Program

The Advocate Partner Development Program is a 12 month intensive sales leadership program for senior client-facing colleagues across Willis Re. Those selected are graduates from the Client Advocate Development Program as well as high performing Willis Re leaders.
