The Covid-19 pandemic caught the world off-guard and served as wakeup call on various levels. Companies are realising the importance of their employee’s health, safety and wellbeing, which plays a major role in employee engagement and financial results. Disjointed delivery of programmes remain a challenge for companies to overcome and may bottleneck the effectiveness of existing initiatives.

We are pleased to share with you the highlights of the Wellbeing Diagnostic Survey – Malaysia, which was run between April – May 2021, and covers responses from 62 employers representing Malaysia. The survey aims to allow employers to better understand their approaches to wellbeing and make informed decisions about their benefits planning and find ways to meet their employee’s needs.

Key findings

  • The vast majority (74%) of employers in Malaysia plan to use their wellbeing programme as differentiator in three years, compared to only 16% who are doing so today.
  • Employers are increasingly taking an interest in wellbeing, with a tremendous increase in interest from the senior leadership to be invested in the health and weelbeing of employees and their families.
  • Organisations are emphasising on Physical and Emotional wellbeing after identifying stress and mental health to be the main issues within their workforce.
  • Employers are expanding their use of data and analytics, and increasingly adopting a value-on-investment, rather than return-on-investment approach, to measure success.
