Based on input from 177 employers from companies across the UK, the findings revealed the measures companies are taking or planning to take as a result to the ongoing pandemic.

Here are some survey respondent highlights:

  • The most important benefits priorities for employers in Q2 – Q4 are communicating existing benefits that help employees and enhancing wellbeing programmes, most notably financial wellbeing and mental health
  • Two fifths of employers have made or plan to make changes to their benefits programmes as a result of COVID-19
  • Three fifths of employers are looking to enhance their wellbeing programmes
  • 1 in 4 employers has taken steps to make it easier for employees to reduce their contributions towards their DC retirement plans
  • 3 in 4 employers have promoted existing financial resources, including EAP
  • 3 in 5 employers believe COVID-19 will increase their sick leave cost
  • Struggling businesses are more likely to look at cuts to health and retirement benefits
