The insurance market considers silent cyber exposure, or insurance policies that don’t explicitly include or exclude coverage for cyber risk, to be a far greater risk than ever before. The increasing frequency of large cyberattacks and potential damage across all business areas are causing heightened concern around silent cyber exposure.

We’re conducting our third annual survey to gauge the insurance industry’s perception of silent cyber risk. The findings will reveal the likelihood of a loss in various industry segments in five major commercial lines of business (property, other liability, workers compensation, errors and omissions, and directors and officers) as well as two dominant personal lines (homeowners, personal auto). Our intention is to help improve market understanding of this hard-to-quantify aspect of cyber exposure until a body of actual claim data becomes available for (re)insurers.
